This Year's Committees

Clinical Health

The Clinical Health Committee is dedicated to delivering holistic solutions and developing educational-based campaigns to combat prevalent health issues in the village. Looking ahead, we plan to specifically address optical conditions among the elderly population in the village by setting up clinics that provide specialized care and treatment. This initiative aims to improve the vision, health, and overall quality of life for the village residents.

Career Development

The Career Development Committee is dedicated to equipping high school students with essential vocational skills, including resume building and interview preparation. Additionally, we plan to pair each student with a university mentor who will provide guidance on navigating their career and college pathways.

Agriculture

The Agricultural Development Committee is focused on supporting local farmers through idea sharing and access to practical resources. In the first year, we will survey farmers to understand crop cycles and challenges, then pilot one small intervention such as composting, seed trials, or irrigation improvements. In preliminary surveying, we have found issues with fungal infections on crops and will be searching for sustainable remedies to this issue. Looking ahead, we plan to introduce new techniques each year, build a trusted group of farmers to test and share practices, and connect the community to government subsidy schemes for financial support.

Water Quality & Sanitation Committee

The Water Quality & Sanitation Committee is focused on improving access to clean drinking water and promoting hygiene in the village. In the first year, we plan to design a small water treatment unit, survey households to understand current water sources, and introduce basic water and hygiene education. Looking ahead, we aim to expand treated water points across the village, train local caretakers for maintenance, and partner with labs or NGOs for regular water quality testing to ensure long-term safety and sustainability.

Finance

The Finance Committee will be working closely with each other committee, to meet the funding needs of all projects throughout the year. Each member will be assigned a committee to be a proxy member of and will be the monetary advisor for the committee. Members will work closely with the treasurer to plan and execute fundraisers. Furthermore, this committee will be tasked with funding and coordinating infrastructural development projects. If you select this committee as a choice, please indicate a third choice committee. The other two committee choices will be used to help determine which committee you would like to be associated with.

Computer Literacy

The Computer Literacy Committee is focused on equipping high school students with essential computer skills. We will achieve this by offering a comprehensive curriculum and providing resources focused on coding. Looking ahead, we plan to enhance our program by incorporating advanced topics and expanding access to additional technological tools.

WOMEN'S HEALTH & EMPOWERMENT

The Women’s Health & Empowerment committee works to improve women’s reproductive health and foster independence for girls in the village. We will run menstrual health programs, provide hygiene resources, and create safe spaces to openly discuss and destigmatize reproductive health. We also support high school girls through workshops, mentorship, and skill-building initiatives that build confidence and leadership. Together, these efforts empower women and girls to take charge of their future.
