Finance Initiatives

Throughout the school year, we organized and participated in a variety of fundraising initiatives to support our projects and collaborations with partner NGOs. These included a donor lunch with Dr. Sri, a GoFundMe campaign, restaurant fundraisers at Panda Express, Yogurt World, and BJ's Brewhouse, tabling at Cash & Carry in Miramar, and several on-campus fundraising events at UCSD. Our campus events featured activities such as a Pie-in-the-Face fundraiser, Bingo Card Dare fundraiser, and a partnership with Dolce Monachelli to sell baked goods. Together, these efforts raised funds while increasing community engagement, donor support, and member involvement in advancing our organization's mission.

We developed a financial literacy presentation to teach students essential money management skills, including budgeting, saving, investing, selling, and applying these concepts in real-world situations. The presentation covers budgeting strategies such as the 50/30/20 rule, effective selling and marketing techniques, SWOT analysis, and the fundamentals of saving and investing, including the concepts of risk and reward. It concludes with interactive real-life scenarios that allow students to apply what they have learned. Overall, the module aims to equip students with practical financial knowledge and decision-making skills that promote long-term financial independence.
